Anthem Provider Agreement

The new contract provides Anthem members with networked access to care at MarinHealth and its affiliated physicians and protects affordability for consumers, according to the joint statement. The new agreement applies to Anthem Blue Cross consumers enrolled in the HMO and PPO plans. „Our members have remained our top priority as we have worked hard and in good faith to find common ground and reach an agreement that contributes to greater affordability,“ said Beth Andersen, President of Anthem Blue Cross. „We are pleased to have reached an agreement with Anthem Blue Cross,“ said MarinHealth CEO Dr. David Klein, who took the reins of Lee Domanico on September 1, who retired on August 31 after 10 years at the helm of MarinHealth. „Access to quality care for our community was and remains our top priority. With this new agreement, patients with Anthem Blue Cross can continue to rely on MarinHealth to meet their health needs. After negotiations broke down in May 2019, NorthBay Healthcare and Anthem agreed on a new three-year contract, signed two months later, in August. The agreement re-integrated the network into both NorthBay Medical Center and NorthBay VacaValley Hospital and retained NorthBay`s doctors and specialists. „This agreement is based on a common goal of improving care and reducing costs for the community members we serve,“ said Mary Boosalis, President and CEO of Premier Health.

„By working with Anthem BlueCross and Blue Shield, focusing on member/patient health and not just the economy, we are confident that this will benefit the community as a whole.“ DAYTON – Premier Health, Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield in Ohio have teamed up to provide value-based health care in the Miami Valley. Value-based health care, a rapidly growing national model for care and wages, focuses the health care system on medical practices in the primary care sector. Anthem`s model examines health care providers with improved data and analysis to more effectively coordinate patient care, focus on preventive health, manage chronic diseases and reduce total costs. The agreement is consistent with the Prime Minister`s health model for the Prime Minister`s population and is based on Anthem`s personalized health care improvement model, which provides value-based compensation based on quality measures and common savings through better health. The new agreement includes Anthem members for employers, individuals and Medicare Advantage. Anthem is Ohio`s largest commercial insurer with nearly four million members nationwide. After months of failed negotiations, MarinHealth and Anthem Blue Cross agreed on Tuesday on a new contract that would otherwise have been terminated, according to a joint statement by both sides.
